Dolby 5.1ch Surround Sound Recording
The DCR-DVD708 can capture sound in crystal clear Dolby Digital 5.1. Enjoy realistic sound as well as spectacular images when playing the disc on devices that support 5.1ch surround sound. Furthermore, when using an optional wireless microphone ECM-HW1, users can record distant sound wirelessly. This microphone picks sounds up accurately, even in busy or distant locations.

25x Optical Zoom Lens
In addition to the advantage of a DVD Handycam® camcorder, the DCR-DVD708, features a high-magnification 25x optical zoom lens. Now users can shoot faraway subjects such as buildings and bridges that are difficult to capture with conventional models.

DVD+RW/-R/-RW +R DL Recording Formats
The DCR-DVD708 supports various media such as 8cm DVD-R/-RW/+RW and now DVD+R DL. By using Dual Layer media, extended shooting (110 min. in LP mode) is possible! During shooting, this model automatically finds empty space on the disc for saving footage, which prevents overwriting valuable footage. During playback a Visual Index function shows a list of contents, so users can easily find the scene they want to view.

Enhanced Still Image Capture
Still-image shooting functions are also improved in comparison with the previous DCR-DVD705. The Memory Stick Duo slot lets users record still images on Memory Stick Duo media. Now users can effortlessly transfer still images to PCs easily.

Enhanced Menu Operation (GUI)
The Touch Screen GUI features Home Menu, Option Menu, and HELP Function to improve operability during shooting and playback. Now camera settings can be selected easily without complication. By selecting the category on the “HOME MENU”, users can shoot, play back, change the settings, and edit. Simply touch the “?” mark on “HOME MENU” and
